What is calibration?
Calibration is the process of comparing equipment against a known calibrated standard to confirm that it is measuring correctly. When needed, adjustments may be made to bring the equipment closer to the required value or specification.
For example, a tape measure may be compared against a calibrated standard tape measure, or a set of gauge blocks may be checked using calibrated calipers or micrometers. This process helps confirm that the equipment is producing accurate and reliable measurement results.
Calibration and verification are often performed together. A piece of equipment may need to be inspected for proper condition before calibration, and the calibration results may help determine whether the equipment is acceptable for use.
In some cases, especially when the equipment is not manufactured or serviced by our company, we may perform verification only. If the equipment is found to be damaged, malfunctioning, or outside acceptable condition, it may need to be returned to the manufacturer for repair or replacement.

Turnaround time depends on the number of items submitted, the type of equipment, the calibration method required, equipment condition, repair needs, customer approvals, and current workload.
1 to 2 items: May be completed quickly depending on workload and service level
3 to 10 items: Standard small-batch turnaround applies
11 to 20 items: Additional processing time may be required
21 to 30 items: Extended turnaround may apply
30+ items: Turnaround will be quoted based on workload, scope, and scheduling availability
Larger orders require more time for inspection, calibration, documentation, review, and certificate preparation.
Turnaround priority does not remove required technical steps or quality review.
Equipment requiring repair, adjustment, cleaning, special handling, or customer approval may increase turnaround time.
Rush Service may be available for eligible items, but large rush orders must be reviewed before acceptance.
Estimated completion dates will be provided after item review and order intake.
Once customer equipment is received, each item goes through the check-in process before calibration begins.
During check-in, 1A Calibration will:
Confirm the equipment received
Review the item count
Identify the requested service package
Check for visible damage or missing accessories
Enter the equipment into the calibration queue
Assign the appropriate service priority
Notify the customer by email that the equipment has been received and entered into the queue
The check-in notification helps confirm that customer equipment has been received and is being processed. Estimated turnaround may depend on item quantity, equipment condition, required service level, repair needs, customer approvals, workload, and documentation requirements.
Queue placement is based on the selected service package:
